Testing, testing, is there anybody... OUT THERE!!!

First 'serious' online test. It was great to have this session before all the forthcoming exercises and presentations because to be honest the results of start using Adobe Connect were not 100% positive. The basic four pillars of having the whole system working were in my opinion: input & output video and input & output audio. Well, in my case not all of these factors were in total predisposition of working. Although I didn't get a perfect performance of the whole system I could get a general idea of how the concept goes. I got familiar with the different windows and tools within the main screen, the different possibilities when trying to access outer links and the different rules of behaviour or how to show presence/absence. And I realised that as a last resort, the chat that is available is the best option.
My technical achievements that day were having the input audio ready (I could hear you, guys...) And the input video too (I could see you, guys...) A little bit frustrating not having the whole thing ready but I realised that it was nothing too serious when a couple of days later I had the rest of stuff in perfect shape when I contacted other schoolmates using any other videoconference utilities. I suppose it didn't go so bad when now I have everything ready and my only worries are focused on how to offer a better quality of sound beyond my built-in microphone. I think these are normal issues when dealing with a brand new laptop and total unknown learning platforms at the same time.
Next time there will be a real online presentation and I will have the chance to put into practice today's testings so I hope everything will be alright for that moment. It is quite stressing to prepare a presentation so hopefully I will not get extra doses of pressure by getting technical malfunctions.
Let's all keep our fingers crossed!
