2nd session. Implementation – Teaching methods / Pedagogical models

And there we went with our second session. This time it was dedicated to implementation of different teaching methods. Our part: pedagogical models – definition, examples and how to applied them in our teaching environment with any kind of concrete example. PLANNING: we used three group online meeting as planning briefings for this week's topic: the first for task division, a second one for doubts and discussion and a last one for sharing our findings and check of the final result. The task organisation went really fast and fluent this time. The great challenge appeared when we had to focus on what pedagogical model should be the most suitable for everybody to understand and how to be linked to different professional fields during the presentation. It was a great chance to use dynamic and activating methods in front of the audience but:  Is  there life beyond Padlet?  OUR PRESENTATION : with some last-minute doubts about the number of participants in our group we managed to be t

1st session. Planning - Pedagogical Scripts

First presentation for our PINK team ... and for the rest of the teams. The general topic was on planning and our insight was on pedagogical scripts . We left back long sessions of hard team work, dozens of Whatsapp messages and online meetings through  Teams.  There we were defending our positions through our elaborated material. It went quite well for being a first attempt. Good feedback coming from our tutors regarding our preliminary material and good feedback from the rest of classmates during the presentation. I had to present on my own a work that included six different points of views coming from each member of our team. In consequence, the first challenge was to understand everyone's thoughts and try to transmit those to the rest of the audience. Fortunately, we held several meetings, apart from continuous contacts through messaging applications, where we had the opportunity to discuss all these aspects. This was our topic as the PINK team : – What is a pedagogical scri

Webtest time... again.

This time in a completely different environment: new classmates, new teacher - and the most important thing - new collaborative channels. Back in 2018 we used to have Adobe Connect as our communication tool and I must admit that... it did not work bad at all! Now we have shifted to Teams as a more versatile way to have our periodic meetings and at the same time as a way to upload all the preliminary material and our own production. Zoom was also tested as a way to show the clear improvement in video and audio quality compared to older options. All in all, better choices these new ones in my opinion. During the session we went back to the concept of COMPETENCE , its connotations and how to demonstrate it. At this point it is somehow clear that this concept is of vital importance during our whole learning process here and that it will be used as an assessment

After a gap of approximately two years (completing the EduSci module and the optional studies in the middle) I resume today my blog and hence the rest of my studies. A lot of things have changed from the beginning, especially in the professional scope. I took a break in my studies because of new professional challenges within the aviation sector and now - because of the current situation - I get back to those studies. So as in a hypothetical flight with its take-off and middle turbulences, I hope to find my way back to the runway to perform a successful landing. As I did before, I flew from Helsinki to Oulu to be present at the two-day presentation sessions. Strange trip with almost empty terminals in both airports, masks, social distancing and extra controls. Quite different to what I am used to. In Oulu it was a very nice surprise to discover the new campus in Linnanmaa. It is great to know that OAMK does not miss the pulse to compete with other universities of applied sciences and b
